That is a great question and one that we get quite frequently. We’ve grown slowly and steadily over the years in order to meet the high demand of our e-Learning course development and Articulate hands-on training requests. As a matter of fact, many of our team members were once customers of Yukon Learning…so, it can happen! However, we are careful and strategic regarding growing our close-knit team.
Join our network!
So, as you can imagine, the answer to this hiring question can vary depending on when it’s asked. Though, whether we’re hiring or not, one option that is available is the Yukon Developer Network (what we call our “YDN”). Founded in 2019, the Yukon Developer Network helps us respond to the numerous and often multi-faceted requests from our customers. With the YDN, we’re able to leverage experienced Storyline 360 designers and developers like you, working in tandem with our amazing Lead Developers at Yukon Learning to ensure the continuity of quality service and excellent customer experience our customers love us for.
Is it a good fit for you?
Are you an experienced Storyline 360 developer? Unfortunately—or fortunately—the Yukon Developer Network is not for beginning e-Learning developers. We expect…nah, require all YDN participants to have strong design and development skills, as well as the ability to develop consistently and quickly in Storyline 360.
No moonlighting, however…Are you independent? Self-employed? It’s important to us that you aren’t working for another organization. First, we work hard to be very responsive to our teammates and our customers’ needs and requests. If a developer is only available during evenings and weekends, then the quality of our service diminishes. Secondly, we wouldn’t want your role with us to interfere with your commitment to your current employer. It’s just not how we want to treat our colleagues in the industry!
So, how does it work?
- Apply for the Yukon Developer Network using our “Shortlist” application process. The application process involves reviewing best practice training sessions, providing background information on your work history, completing various employment forms, as well as completing a development homework assignment. The goal: to help us collect the basics from you, as well as establish a baseline understanding of how your design and development style meshes with our best practices and expectations of high quality.
- Once approved, we’ll reach out when projects become available that might be a good fit for you! At that time, you’ll be given a full description of the project (what’s provided at the project start, audience, project notes, and more), compensation/budget allocation, and the estimated level of effort required.
- If you accept the project, you’ll then be assigned a Yukon Learning Lead Developer who will reach out to schedule time to discuss the project, providing you with the resources, direction, and support you’ll need to be successful. Our Lead Developers are full-time Yukon Learning employees who are experts in the industry. Their role is to be the conduit between you, the customer, and our project management staff to ensure the project stays right on track.
