Video is a great way to communicate a message to learners in your courses! We’re often asked during our hands-on Articulate 360 training how to make a video automatically play over and over again or “loop.” Let’s look at how this can be done in Storyline 360!
To begin, insert a video onto a slide via the Insert tab, be it Content Library 360 media or your own. (You may want to have your video fade in and fade out. Visit this blog post to add that effect in Replay 360.)
Tip: Although there are different options to make your video play, the simplest is to have the video play right away when the timeline starts. Simply add your video to the slide and make sure it is starting “Automatically” in the “Play Video” drop-down on the video Options tab.
Now, create a trigger that will play the video again once the video completes.
This trigger is intentionally repetitive, which creates the endless loop.
Preview the project. The video should play repeatedly for as long as you remain on this slide!
That’s it! Though you may not use it all of the time, having a looping video can be a nice option for things like welcome slides, or simply as a way to reinforce video content to a learner about a particular topic.
Try it out! Remember to stay tuned as we explore the topic of video throughout the year.
